The use of divers during Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) is common practice, as the diver plays an important role in the training and safety of course participants.
HUET operations present specific hazards associated with the apparatus and the equipment worn by participants, as well as the hazards posed by human behaviour.
The HUET diver is a key component in the control of the risks associated with these hazards.
